Microsoft is still churning out limited edition Xbox controllers, and the Nocturnal Vapor controller, which comes in a swirly green and somewhat darker green color, is the newest model in the company’s now three-strong Vapor lineup.
Not only does Nocturnal Vapor sound like a fancy way of saying fart, but it was allegedly inspired by nighttime nature. Microsoft describes the new controller in an official article, saying, “Every color swirl is an expression of that expansive landscape, with a design that’s unique to each controller – each with its own energy and pattern.”
Similar to Storm cloud Vapor and Dream Vapor, the other two Vapor range controllers from the firm, Nocturnal Vapor has a “dynamic smoky design” that blends light and dark green. “Feel the allure of the rubberized, green diamond-pattern grips on the back case,” according to the press release, “elevating your experience with a touch of sophistication.”
Like its many, many special edition controller companions, it boasts “up to” 40 hours of battery life and is compatible with a wide range of platforms, including PC, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You can pre-order the Nocturnal Vapor Special Edition controller right now if you like its tie-dye meets military-green look.
It releases on Tuesday, April 9th, and costs £64.99/$69.99 USD from the Microsoft Store (in addition to “local retailers”).
