Here is an overview of when to avoid this island destination and why. Hurricane Season June to November The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30 each year. During this period, St. Lucia and other Caribbean islands are at risk of being impacted by tropical storms and hurricanes. The peak of hurricane season is in August and September. Visiting St. Lucia during hurricane season, especially late summer and early fall, runs the risk of having your trip disrupted by storms, heavy rain, flooding, and potential damage across the island. Even if a hurricane doesn't directly hit, outer bands can still bring stormy weather. Hurricane season is considered the worst time for a Caribbean vacation. Holiday Periods Christmas to New Year's St. Lucia gets extremely crowded and touristy during the holidays at the end of December into the first week of January.
